Think Again...

So, we put up the Christmas tree last week, in order to do this, we had to move the entryway table into the dining room, and move one of my sculptures, and so on and so forth.

So, this sculpture... The Uncommon Birdhouse... it's now in my line of sight from the "my" seat in the living room. I probably spent over 100 hours on this piece, but I see some glaring flaws. And now I REALLY see them, all the time.

By the time Saturday rolled around, I had had enough.

I asked my hubs (bubs, kitch, Chris, whatever you want to call him) if we had an axe. Basically I was so sick of looking at that piece, along with the other frustrations I've been feeling, I just wanted to get some aggression out and chop that fucker up into a million pieces.

He calmly explained that we do not, in fact, have an axe and suggested that he just move it to the attic. I was cool with that.

Then, Monday, I got a call from the Toledo Museum of Art, they'd like to use it in an upcoming exhibition that will be held at the Glass Pavilion in March. Apparently NW Ohio is a popular place to bird watch and the museum is going to be catering to the influx of people that will be in the area. Oh, wow. I'm happy and embarrassed.

I was going to put a picture up on here, but I never got a great shot of it and now the museum has it already. I hope you look for it, it's inspired by Marisol Escobar and if you know her work, you will immediately recognize it.
